Job summary

The Baker Center for Children and Families in Boston seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to deliver comprehensive psychiatric and psychopharmacological services to a K–12 student caseload in a school setting.

This 11-month, full-time position emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive care and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support student well-being and success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with PMHNP specialization.
• Active MA RN license and APN/PMHNP authority per state law.
• PMHNP board certification and DEA registration as required.
• BLS certification and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct psychiatric and pharmacological care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, prescribing and monitoring.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans with the team and families.
• Monitor medication effectiveness and side effects within licensure and regulations.
• Collaborate with therapists, educators, and leaders to coordinate student care.
• Provide psychiatric consultation on management and care transitions.
• Engage Students and caregivers in treatment planning and decision-making.
• Educate on diagnoses, treatments, medications, outcomes, and ongoing needs.
• Maintain compliant clinical documentation and adhere to laws and policies.
