Job summary

Seaman School District USD 345 in Topeka, KS seeks a physical therapist for a part-time role two days per week. The therapist evaluates students with motor and/or sensory disabilities and plans and implements interventions to support access to the curriculum.

You will collaborate with the Director of Special Services, participate in IEP teams, and coordinate with families, teachers, and community partners to promote educational success for students.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with entry-level credentials.
  • Current licensure to practice physical therapy issued by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
  • Knowledge of pediatric conditions and pediatric physical therapy.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with Kansas special education regulations and the procedures used in Seaman Public Schools.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and plan for physical therapy intervention required in the school setting.
  • Assist students in gaining functional independence to more completely benefit from the educational environment.
  • Work effectively with community organizations.
  • Communicate effectively with district personnel, families and the community.
  • Support the value of education.
  • Support the mission and philosophy of the school district.
  • React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Appropriately operate all equipment as required.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
  • Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.
