Job summary

Cross Country Education in Waldorf, MD is seeking a local contract School Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide focused therapy within the school setting. The role supports students' independence, participation, and success through collaboration with school teams and families.

The OT will evaluate students, develop IEP-driven goals, coordinate services, and document progress and Medicaid activities, with a 40-hour work week over 41 weeks of local contract employment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or equivalent.
• Current Maryland OT license.
• Experience with school-based OT including assessments, IEP development, collaboration, Medicaid documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate elementary students using OT assessments to identify needs related to fine motor development, sensory processing, self-help skills, functional mobility, and activities of daily living.
• Develop and implement individualized OT goals and services through the IEP/IFSP process, including determining appropriate therapy frequency, intensity, accommodations, and equipment needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, related-service providers, and school teams to support student participation, independence, and access to the educational environment.
• Document evaluations, therapy progress, student data, and Medicaid billing while maintaining required records and meeting applicable service timelines.
