Job summary

Wilson County Schools Exceptional Children in Wilson, North Carolina seeks an Occupational Therapist for a 10-month, full-time position. The therapist will evaluate eligible students, develop appropriate therapy programs, and provide services in classroom and home environments as needed.

Licensure from the NC Board of Occupational Therapy is required; collaboration with teachers and staff, documentation of IEP progress, and travel between locations are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited occupational therapy program plus 2 years experience, or a Master’s in physical therapy.
• Licensed as an occupational therapist by the NC Board of Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assesses students using evaluation tools to determine therapy need.
• Develops and implements individualized therapy programs.
• Documents screenings, IEPs, progress reports and related data.
• Provides consultation with teachers and school staff.
• Travels between locations to deliver services.
• Supervises assistants where applicable and provides student training.
