Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a part-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year in Gastonia, North Carolina. In this role, you’ll support students with visual impairments through tailored instruction and individualized strategies, helping create an inclusive classroom and partnering with educators, families, and specialists.

The position offers competitive pay up to $58 per hour, W-2 employment with liability insurance, healthcare benefits and a 401(k) with company

Qualifications

• Must have Orientation and Mobility Specialist Certification.
• School-based experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement IEPs, individualized interventions, and classroom accommodations.
• Build a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with Exceptional Children's/Special Education teams, behavior specialists, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and team planning sessions.
