Job summary

ESS Clinical, a division of ESS Family, is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist in Dayton, OH. This role offers 20 hours per month with a flexible schedule and a W2 arrangement.

The incumbent will join a dedicated school-based team and support students in the classroom environment. Responsibilities include evaluating students, developing individualized therapy plans, delivering direct OT services, and monitoring progress.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or higher in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid Occupational Therapist license (State Specific).
  • School-based experience preferred; mentorship available for new professionals.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Passion for supporting student growth and functional skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
  • Provide direct OT services (individual and group).
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support students’ participation in academic, social, and daily living activities.
  • Contribute to MTSS / RTI initiatives as appropriate.

Assignment Experience (What You Can Expect)
  • Typical caseload discussed before submission
  • Exposure to a variety of grade levels (PreK-12 opportunities)
  • 1-2 building placement when possible
  • Collaborative teams including Teachers, Intervention Specialists, Counselors, and Administration
Your Impact as a School-Based OT

You'll help students build the functional, sensory, and fine motor skills they need to succeed in the classroom and daily school activities.
