Job summary

Saint Paul Public Schools is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant on a 10-month basis, working 40 hours per week under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

The position involves implementing individual and group therapy programs, maintaining records, ordering supplies, and contributing to student development, with pay ranging from $22.31 to $32.96 per hour.

Qualifications

• Completion of approved OTA program and AOTA certification.
• Pediatric practicum or internship or 6 months experience with children in educational/rehabilitative settings.
• Current OTA certificate required at time of filing.
• Under supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Carries out student treatment programs in sensory integration development, enhancing and maintaining motor development, increasing independence in daily living skills, and assisting in evaluation.
• Constructs splinting and adaptive devices under supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Orders and maintains supplies for the Occupational Therapy unit.
• With assistance, plans and implements group and individual programs with assigned students and groups of students.
• Keeps attendance records, records of individual programs, and frequent progress notes for each assigned student.
