Job summary

Southern Oregon Education Service District is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Orthopedic Impairment Program. This location-based role serves primarily K-12 students within the Eagle Point School District, focusing on delivering school-based occupational therapy under the supervision of a licensed therapist.

You will support program development, collect progress data, attend IEP meetings as needed, and work with families and classroom staff to enhance student access

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credential required.

Responsibilities

• Assists occupational/physical therapist with monitoring levels of functioning and progress toward goals.
• Adapts school and classroom environment, tools, and materials under supervision to improve student access to learning.
• Assists in the development and implementation of therapy programs.
• Collects and records data on therapy programs.
• Maintains communication with the therapist regarding student progress and equipment effectiveness.
• Assists in design, modification and procurement of adaptive equipment.
• Attends IFSP/IEP meetings as appropriate and completes billing documentation.
• Manages student behavior during therapy.
• Makes home visits as necessary.
• Respects confidential information.
• Maintains regular attendance to ensure continuity of service.
• Performs duties in a professional manner.
• Establishes cooperative relationships with SOESD staff and stakeholders.
• Participates in trainings and professional development.
• Participates in team meetings.
