Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a Lake County, IL special education cooperative to hire an Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year. This on-site, school-based contract supports students with diverse learning and developmental needs aligned to IEPs/504 plans.

The OT will focus on fine motor development, sensory processing/self-regulation, classroom participation, and adaptive strategies, while collaborating with educators, related service providers, and families and documenting

Qualifications

• Active Illinois OT license required.
• School-based or pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative OT services aligned to IEPs/504s.
• Support fine motor skills, handwriting, and classroom participation.
• Address sensory processing and self-regulation needs.
• Recommend and train on assistive/adaptive tools and materials.
• Collaborate with teachers, service providers, and families.
• Complete evaluations and contribute to goals and progress documentation.
