Job summary

Onward Education is hiring a School-Based Occupational Therapist for a Marion County, IN school district for the 2026-2027 year. The onsite role serves K-6 with a ~70-student caseload, Monday–Friday, 7:10 AM–3:10 PM, totaling 37.5 hours weekly.

You will evaluate, plan, and implement OT services to support student participation and independence in classroom activities, with collaboration from educators and families. Indiana licensure and NBCOT are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active Indiana Occupational Therapist license through the IPLA.
  • NBCOT certification.
  • Experience with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP development, and school-based service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide school-based occupational therapy services aligned with students' IEP goals and educational needs.
  • Conduct evaluations and reassessments to identify functional, sensory, motor, and educational needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support participation and success in school.
  • Support fine motor, visual motor, handwriting, sensory processing, self-regulation, and adaptive skill development.
  • Recommend and implement adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, special education staff, and related service providers to promote carryover of strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to support IEP goals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP meetings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.

Position Details:
