Job summary

Onward Education is partnering with a Kane County, IL school district to hire a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite role supports students' functional and educational participation during the school day.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEP-aligned therapy plans, with a focus on fine motor, sensory processing, handwriting, and adaptive skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license issued by IDFPR.
• Current NBCOT certification.
• School-based or pediatric OT experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based service delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services aligned with students' IEP goals and educational needs.
• Conduct evaluations, reevaluations, and assessments to determine students' functional and educationally relevant needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans supporting participation and success in the school environment.
• Support fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, handwriting, and adaptive skill development.
• Recommend and implement adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, special education staff, and related service providers to support student progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to meet IEP goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
