Qualifications

• Licensed and registered by the NYS Education Department as an Occupational Therapist.
• Licensure must be maintained during the appointment.
• Ability to evaluate, plan and execute occupational therapy treatments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate degree of function and disability and document findings.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on physician prescriptions or referrals.
• Perform occupational therapy procedures to address disabilities and rehab goals.
• Fabricate hand splints and train clients in adaptive devices and self-help techniques.
• Maintain accurate client charts including evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with other staff to coordinate client care and progress reports.
• Maintain service records and budget information for the OT program.
• Supervise OT Assistants, OT Aides, and clerical staff as assigned.
• Participate in staff education and program development.
