Job summary

Onward Education is seeking an in-person Occupational Therapist to support a DuPage County, Illinois school for the 2026–2027 year. The role starts February 1, 2027 and ends May 28, 2027, with on-site, 35 hours per week.

The OT will deliver school-based services, coordinate with educators, and document progress within IEP/504 processes. Qualified candidates must hold an Illinois OT license and have experience in school-based settings, focusing on functional skills, motor development, and sensory

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Occupational Therapy license required.
• Experience providing OT services in a school-based setting or supporting student participation in educational routines.
• Ability to support student needs related to functional skills, motor development, and sensory processing as they impact school performance.
• Strong collaboration with school teams, caregivers, and related service providers.
• Ability to complete required evaluations, documentation, and progress reporting aligned to student plans (e.g., IEP/504).

Responsibilities

• Provide school-based occupational therapy services aligned to student educational plans and functional goals.
• Assess student needs within the school environment and recommend supports and strategies.
• Implement interventions that support classroom participation, independence, and access to learning activities.
• Collaborate with educators and support teams to ensure carryover of strategies across school settings.
• Document services and monitor student progress, adjusting approaches based on outcomes.
