Job summary

Rio Rancho Public Schools is seeking an Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year under the RRPS Special Services Department. This 190-day contract supports students with neuromuscular, sensory processing, and adaptive needs within the special education framework.

The role requires a Master’s in OT (or BS/OT if grandfathered), regional accreditation, and NM PED licensure. The therapist will collaborate with teachers and families to implement effective IEP goals and provide ongoing

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college.
• Hold NBOT/ NBCOT certification as required.
• Licensure with NM PED and Board of Examiners Licensure in NM.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates referred students in neuromuscular, sensory processing, perceptual motor skills, postural reflexes, self-care and needs for adaptive devices.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers and parents to ensure therapy goals are followed in school and home.
• Participates in meetings related to the student’s therapy needs.
• Provides consultative services to teachers and parents regarding occupational therapy and maintains progress documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
