Job summary

Poppy's Therapeutic Corner is seeking a licensed School Based Mental Health Therapist to diagnose and treat mental health disorders among youth in a school setting. You will teach communication skills, guide patients through crises, and provide evidence-based interventions in group and individual formats.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families to promote positive outcomes, ensure safety, and coordinate referrals to external providers as needed.

Qualifications

• Ohio licensed mental health clinician (LPC, LSW, LPCC, LISW, LPCC-S, LISW-S, MFT) required.
• Licensed Interns are welcome.
• Previous experience as a mental health therapist preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and treatment planning for students’ mental health needs.
• Individual and group therapy addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral concerns.
• Crisis intervention and safety planning for students in crises.
• Collaboration with school staff to support student mental health in the school setting.
• Family engagement to align treatment goals with home environments.
• Coordinate referrals to external providers and community resources.
• Maintain confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development in school-based mental health.
