Position Overview:

ERA Ed, a Division of The Stepping Stones Group, is seeking a dedicated and experienced School-Based Mental Health Service Clinician to provide intensive, individualized (Tier 3) interventions for a school district in the East San Gabriel Valley.

This role is specifically focused on providing mental health services to general education students who present with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate will be a licensed professional (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC) or registered associate (ACSW, AMFT, or APCC) who has a passion for supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students, enabling them to achieve academic and personal success. This position plays a critical role in our commitment to providing a comprehensive support system for all students.

The clinician will work collaboratively with school site teams, families, and community partners to deliver evidence-based mental health services to students with significant needs. This role requires a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and the implementation of intensive, data-driven interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide School-Based Counseling: Deliver direct, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to a caseload of students identified as needing Tier 3 support. This includes, but is not limited to, utilizing modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Support Plans: In collaboration with the student, family, and school-based team (including teachers, administrators, and school psychologists), create and implement individualized support plans that outline specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals.
  • Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessment: Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for students experiencing acute distress. Conduct thorough risk assessments for self-harm and harm to others, and coordinate with appropriate school personnel and external agencies as necessary.
  • Family Engagement and Support: Engage families in the therapeutic process through regular communication, family therapy sessions, and parent education/coaching to support the student's well-being across home and school environments.
  • Collaboration and Consultation : Serve as a key member of the Student Services Team; provide consultation and guidance to school staff.
  • Case Management and Community Linkages: Connect students and their families withappropriate community-basedmental health services, resources, and supports to ensure a continuum of care.
  • Data Collection and Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Systematically collect and analyze data to monitor student progress towards goals and make data-informed adjustments to interventions.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a valid California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) OR be a registered associate (ACSW, AMFT, or APCC) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Master's degree in social work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working within a school setting and/or with a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Experience with evidence-based practices (e.g., TF-CBT, DBT, CBT) is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Mandarin) candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • This position is based at a school district within the East San Gabriel Valley and may require travel between schools within the district. A hybrid school-home-community service delivery model is expected.
  • Competitive Salary: $40–$45/hour or annual salary range of $83,000–$93,000
