The Mental Health Specialist role is part-time, in-person at Newark-area school sites, offering competitive hourly pay and opportunities for professional development and supervision within a supportive educational setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
• BBS registration in good standing (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC).
• Experience with youth trauma (preferred); familiarity with CBT, ACT, and evidence-based interventions.
• Ability to collaborate with school teams and families.
• Fluency in a second language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students (on-site).
• Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Offer crisis intervention and perform risk assessments.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners.
• Lead mental health workshops for students, parents, and educators.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation (HIPAA & FERPA compliant).
• Attend triadic clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
