Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks a Mental Health Professional I - School Based to deliver advanced assessment, crisis management, and short/long-term therapy for children in a school-based setting. The role includes case management and interagency coordination to support families and improve outcomes.

The position emphasizes collaboration with school staff, development of treatment plans, and data documentation in client records, with bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires master’s degree in guidance, counseling, social sciences or related field and licensure eligibility.
• Ability to perform child/adolescent assessments (birth to 18 years) and develop treatment plans.
• Provide advanced assessment, crisis management, individual and family therapy in school-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced assessment, crisis management and therapy for children and families in a school-based setting.
• Offer school consultation, in-service training and classroom presentations to school staff.
• Provide case management and coordinate with other agencies for treatment planning (IEP/SIT).
• Document data in medical records per QA, CARF, and compliance standards.
• Participate in treatment team meetings to develop individual service plans for clients.
