Job summary

Northern Light Acadia Hospital in Deer Isle, Maine, is hiring a School-based Psychiatric Clinician I to provide behavioral health treatment, education, planning and consultation within schools and school systems.

Relying on evidence-based practices, the clinician conducts psychosocial evaluations, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and IEP support to improve student wellbeing. Requires LMSW-CC, LCPC-C licensure and pursuit of full licensure within one year.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling or comparable degree.
• Valid Maine License as LMCW-CC, LCPC-C, LCSW, or LCPC.
• Must progress to full licensure within 1 year of eligibility for full licensure.
• Fingerprinting is required and paid upfront by employee with reimbursement after pass.
• Eligible for a Sign-on Bonus.

Responsibilities

• Performs psychosocial assessments to identify therapeutic targets and plan treatment.
• Develops initial master treatment plan in collaboration with patient and within timeframes.
• Provides IEP counseling services as requested by districts.
• Participates in district meetings to support student needs and integration.
• Delivers mental health trainings for school partners.
• Implements evidence-based individual, group and family therapies according to the plan.
