Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a full-time School Based Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a school-based clinic. Travel to other locations for training/coverage may be required.

You will assist in delivering primary health care, triage patients, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and ensure records are up to date. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with certification preferred, 6–12 months of clinic experience

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Prefer six months to a year of work experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
• Previous pediatric experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.
• Maintain CPR certification and licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with flow through the clinic and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Take vital signs and prepare patients for assessment.
• Prepare exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing, and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Sterilize instruments as assigned.
• Screens telephone calls for referrals.
• Ensure that pertinent information and most recent test results are in patient records.
• Assist providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments as directed.
• Triage walk-in patients and call-ins.
• Stock supplies in medical rooms prior to all shifts.
• Adhere to scheduling assignments and infection control guidelines.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
