Job summary

The HealthCare Connection is seeking a School Based Medical Assistant to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. In this role you will support providers and nurses in delivering high-quality care to children and adolescents in a school-based health center.

You will prepare patients for exams, take vitals, assist with procedures, and help maintain accurate medical records. This position offers a stable work schedule with no weekends or evenings, reflecting our commitment to work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program.
• Active CPR certification.
• Prefer at least one year of experience in community health nursing setting or private physician practice.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) or proven computer skills a must.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with direct patient care including interviewing the patient and documenting vitals and medical concerns.
• Conduct requested screening/tests.
• Draw blood and administer shots to patients.
• Respond to telephone inquiries.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in exam rooms and office.
• Complete encounter forms and code as necessary.
• Conduct referrals for patients.
• Perform other duties to provide excellent patient care and to support our providers.
