The HealthCare Connection in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a bilingual School Based Medical Assistant to support providers and nurses in a school-health center. You will prepare patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and help maintain accurate records to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have Medical Assistant Certification
  • Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program
  • Active CPR certification
  • Prefer at least one year of experience in community health nursing setting or private physician practice.
  • Preferred experience with electronic health records, or proven computer skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and relate to persons from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with persons of diverse backgrounds is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting providers with direct patient care including: interviewing the patient and documenting vitals and medical concerns and conditions
  • Conducting requested screening/tests
  • Drawing blood and administering shots to patients
  • Responding to telephone inquiries
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies in exam rooms and office
  • Completing encounter forms and code as necessary
  • Conducting referrals for patients

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Bilingual School Based Medical Assistant to join our mission-driven team. In this role, you will support providers and nurses in delivering high-quality care to children and adolescents in a school-based health center. Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, administering vaccines, maintaining accurate medical records, and helping ensure smooth clinic operations.

Medical Assistant Levels

This role is part of our Medical Assistant tier system, which includes:
Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), and Senior Medical Assistant levels. Placement is based on experience, certification, and qualifications.
