Job summary

Greater Southern Tier BOCES is seeking a Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse for a 10-month school calendar position. This role involves caring for the medical needs of students in a special education setting, assisting with daily living skills, dispensing medications under supervision, and ensuring student safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid NYS Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Experience working with disabled students is preferred.
• Physically able to meet the needs of the students.

Responsibilities

• Caring for the medical needs of students.
• Assisting students with daily living skills, including personal care and feeding.
• Dispensing medications under the direction of R.N.
• Completing Medicaid paperwork.
• Helping students carry out prescribed physical exercises.

Skills

Valid NYS Licensed Practical Nurse license

Experience with children or youth

Ability to assist with daily living skills

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Completion of one year of coursework at a regionally accredited NYS registered College or University
