Job summary

New Story Schools in Kentucky seeks a Licensed Social Worker to provide counseling, case management, and crisis support for students ages 5–21, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support behavior, academics, and social-emotional development.

You’ll document services, maintain reporting, and partner with families and school staff to help students progress toward goals. This role emphasizes professional training, licensure upkeep, and a collaborative workplace.

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credential
• Experience providing counseling or related services to children or adolescents
• Knowledge of education regulations, behavior modification techniques, and mental health services and supports
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to complete required professional training and maintain applicable licensure and certifications

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and individualized support based on student needs and goals
• Support student intake, goal setting, progress reviews, transition and discharge planning, and ongoing communication with families and school partners
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of counseling services, student progress, interventions, communications, and required reports
• Collaborate with educational and clinical teams to address attendance, academics, behavior, social-emotional development, and transition needs
• Respond to behavioral and mental health needs using appropriate de-escalation, crisis-response, referral, and safety procedures while maintaining a structured, supportive environment
