Brady High School in Jeffco Public Schools seeks a School Based Guest Teacher for grades 9-12. This temporary role provides instructional continuity in the absence of the regular teacher and supports a diverse learner population in an alternative high school setting.
You will follow established lesson plans, adapt activities as needed, assist students with coursework, and help maintain a safe, engaging classroom.

Brady High School is an Alternative Education Campus as designated by the Colorado Department of Education. This means that more than 95% of our students are designated as highly at-risk by the State of Colorado. Some of these risk factors include: expulsion, homelessness, pregnancy, child abuse or neglect, foster care, a parent or guardian in prison or on parole or probation, loss of a parent or sibling, documented history of a mental or behavior health issue, significant trauma, and students who have dropped out of school. In any one year, we serve approximately 350 students. Our mission is to reduce the dropout rate by finding the dropouts, non-attenders and expelled students and getting them a diploma and preparing them for work.

The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
SUMMARY: Guest Teachers are an integral part of the Jeffco team to ensure there is a quality teacher in every classroom. Responsible for the delivery of specified course content in the absence of the classroom teacher. Responsible for providing a safe educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. School Based Guest Teachers work for the full school year at a single school site.

EXPERIENCE previous teaching experience preferred. Other experience working with children in a learning environment will be considered.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively and efficiently use technology and information literacy in instruction. Willingness to learn new technology. Must be flexible and have capacity for dealing with ambiguity.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: 1, 3, or 5 year Substitute Authorization with Colorado Department of Education OR a Colorado Initial or Professional teaching license.
