Job summary

Smile New York Outreach is seeking a Full-time Dental Assistant to join our school-based mobile dental program in Brooklyn, NY and surrounding areas. You will help provide dental care to underserved children at their schools, with a schedule around 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

on weekdays and no nights or weekends. Responsibilities include assisting during mobile clinics, digital X-ray imaging, patient records, and sterilization, with travel daily to school sites.

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant Certification is preferred but not required.
• CPR certification card.
• Working experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Working experience with Digital X-ray's.
• Experience with patient charting (paper forms, charting tooth surfaces).
• Valid ID, and a willingness to travel to schools within the boroughs.
• Works well with children.
• Team player and able to work on a small team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Dental Assisting Services during mobile dental clinics.
• Digital X-ray Imaging.
• Patient Records Charting.
• Equipment Set-up, Breakdown, and Sterilization Assistance.
• Travel Daily to and from school sites.
