Job summary

Smile New York Outreach in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Full-time Dental Assistant to support our mobile school-based dental program serving underserved children. No nights or weekends; schedule roughly 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and travel between school sites within the boroughs.

Responsibilities include assisting during clinics, digital radiography, patient charting, and equipment setup with sterilization. Prior dental experience is preferred but not required; CPR is required.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required.

Smile New York Outreach, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Full-time Dental Assistant in Brooklyn, NY and surrounding areas to help provide dental care to underserved children at their school.

Our innovative in school dental program offers something different than a traditional dental practice. With a workday that ends with the school day and no nights or weekends, our program is perfect for people looking for a diverse and different working environment, working parents and anyone who wants to make a difference in the dental field.

Dental Assistant Qualifications

• Dental Assistant Certification (preferred, but not required)
• CPR certification card
• Working experience as a Dental Assistant
• Working experience with Digital X-ray's
• Experience with patient charting (paper forms, charting tooth surfaces)
• Valid ID, and a willingness to travel to schools within the boroughs
• Works well with children
• Team player and able to work on a small team
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Dental Assistant Responsibilities
