Job summary

Dare County Schools seeks a Head Custodian I School-Based for Nags Head Elementary School. Immediate start; reports to the Principal with guidance from the Director of Facilities.

Performs cleaning, groundskeeping, and basic maintenance across campus, while maintaining inventories and opening/closing procedures. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a NC driver’s license, and ability to perform medium physical work.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or its equivalent.
• General knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies and equipment.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Performs responsible unskilled work in the care and cleaning of school facilities.
• Maintains floors, restrooms and fixtures; cleans windows and surfaces.
• Opens and secures buildings; reports major repairs to the principal.
• Maintains inventory and requisitions supplies as needed.
• Cleans grounds, performs light maintenance and assists with events.
