Job summary

Horizon Health Services is hiring counselors to provide mental health services in Western New York schools. The role requires NY licensure eligibility with a master’s degree in counseling or related field.

You will work with kids and families, applying evidence-based therapies and collaborating with school staff. We offer a robust onboarding program, ongoing training through Horizon University, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling or related field with NY licensure eligibility.
• LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or LCAT licensure required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with children/adolescents is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend trainings and onboarding with mentorship from experienced counselors.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Build therapeutic relationships and establish rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Participate in regular supervision and team meetings to discuss cases.
• Utilize evidence-based practices (CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, MI, Play Therapy) in care.
• Collaborate with school personnel, family members, and psychiatric providers to support patients.
• Travel to different schools as needed and support elementary-aged students.
