Danville City School District in Danville, Virginia is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT. The COTA assists with interventions, data collection, and collaboration with teachers to help students access the curriculum.

The role requires a VA certified COTA, an associate degree, and willingness to work in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant required.
• Current Virginia COTA certification required.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.

Responsabilités

• Implement occupational therapy interventions under supervision of a licensed OT.
• Collect data and document progress toward IEP goals.
• Maintain service logs and documentation per policies.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate therapy into classroom activities.
• Prepare and maintain therapy materials and equipment.
• Provide input during team meetings on student progress.
• Participate in professional development to enhance skills.
• Support development of fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills for school participation.
• Adapt classroom materials and environments to meet student needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Services for Exceptional Children.
