An education support organization located in DeKalb, Illinois is seeking a COTA Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. The role involves guiding students during challenging times and collaborating with educational teams to ensure effective IEP implementation. Ideal candidates must be licensed or in the process of obtaining their license and exhibit a strong capability to support students with various emotional and developmental needs. This position is key in maintaining service logs and ensuring treatment plans are executed effectively.
Qualifications
COTA Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license with IDFPR (state of IL) or proof of application for license.
Ability to work with students with ED/BD/OHI/Autism/TBI.
Responsibilities
Provide educational direction and support for students at times of confusion, frustration & emotional upset.
Assist in developing and updating IEP goals and progress reports for student caseload.
Provide Occupational Therapy related service minutes and carry out individual treatment plans.
Maintain accurate related service logs updated weekly.
Coordinate and communicate with administrative staff, teachers, and related service staff.
