Job summary

Paving the Way MSI is seeking a School-Based Behavioral Health Clinician (LGSW or LGPC) to be embedded within a school, delivering prevention, early intervention and therapeutic services year-round to students and families.

You will gain hands-on experience with diverse populations, receive clinical supervision, and engage in mentorship from experienced leaders as you grow professionally in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Active or Pending DC LGSW or LGPC license.
  • 1–3 years of behavioral health experience.
  • Experience with children, adolescents, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and school-wide behavioral health services year-round in the school.
  • Facilitate workshops, classroom presentations, prevention activities, and wellness initiatives.
  • Support students experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and family stressors.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, families, teachers, and school administrators.
  • Coordinate care with families, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Maintain timely clinical documentation, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and consultation.

Education

School-Based Behavioral Health Clinician LGSW / LGPC

At Paving the Way MSI, you will do more than provide therapy—you will develop as a clinician while helping children, adolescents, and families navigate some of life's most challenging experiences. As a Full-Time Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) or Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), you will be embedded within a school and become part of their community, providing prevention, early intervention, and therapeutic services year round that support student success both inside and outside the classroom.

Many of the youth and families we serve have experienced trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, grief, family conflict, and other barriers that affect their well-being. Through this work, you will gain valuable experience working with diverse populations while receiving ongoing support, clinical supervision, and mentorship from experienced clinical leaders.

What You'll Do

As a School-Based Behavioral Health Clinician, you will serve as the primary behavioral health provider within an assigned school community. You will provide individual, group, and school-wide behavioral health services using a public health approach that promotes student wellness and academic success.
