Job summary

Davison Community Schools is seeking a Caregiver to support Cardinal’s Nest Preschool within the Davison District. The role involves assisting with daily routines, supervising children, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.

Hours are Monday through Friday with flexible shifts; starting wage is $15 per hour based on experience. This position follows the district calendar and may offer opportunities for summer camp work. A positive, reliable team player is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; training or experience in child development or early childhood education preferred.
• Ability to work positively with both adults and children.
• Willingness to learn and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Knowledge of child development and planning suitable activities.
• Flexible and eager to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.
• Take children outside daily in all seasons.
• Create and maintain a structured routine with a posted schedule.
• Follow staff handbook and Michigan licensing rules for childcare centers.
• Interact positively with children, staff, and parents with dignity and respect.
• Maintain order with positive group management techniques.
• Prepare snacks/lunches/rest time materials.
• Keep area clean and organized; care for materials and equipment.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Stay updated on Cardinal’s Nest communications via mailbox, email, and SMORE newsletter.
• Complete all professional development requirements by deadlines.
• Plan and implement child-led interest activities.
• Perform duties as asked by supervisor.
