Job summary

Health Connect America in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a licensed social worker to deliver school-based and community-based therapy for young children and their families. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with teachers and community partners to support each child’s development.

The role emphasizes play-based, evidence-informed interventions, documentation, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work required.
• Licensed in SC (LMSW or LMFT-A or LPC-A or LISW-CP or LMFT or LPC) required.
• Experience with school-based or community-based settings preferred.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development and evidence-based behavioral health treatment approaches.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans addressing emotional, behavioral, social, and developmental needs of young children (ages 3 to 5).
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based, play-based interventions.
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support child success across environments.
• Support children with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges with individualized strategies.
• Coordinate care with families, healthcare providers, schools, and community partners, linking to resources and supports.
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and provide crisis intervention and progress monitoring as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique emotional, behavioral, social, and developmental needs of young children ages 3 to 5
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based, play-based, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, educators, special education staff, and multidisciplinary teams to support each child’s success across environments
• Support children with developmental disabilities, special needs, and behavioral health challenges by implementing individualized strategies that promote growth, regulation, and engagement
• Coordinate care with families, healthcare providers, schools, and community partners while connecting families to resources and supports that strengthen long‑term outcomes
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and provide crisis intervention, consultation, and ongoing progress monitoring as needed

What To Expect

This is a school‑based and community‑focused role serving children within early childhood education programs throughout Spartanburg, South Carolina. You’ll work primarily with preschool‑aged students, partnering with teachers, administrators, caregivers, and other professionals who share a commitment to supporting young children during a critical stage of development.

This position requires a therapist who is passionate about early childhood mental health and understands the importance of addressing behavioral, social, emotional, and developmental concerns as early as possible. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or other special needs populations is highly valued.

Services continue throughout the year to ensure continuity of care for enrolled clients when school is not in session.

We welcome candidates who bring a genuine commitment to children and families and meet the following qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Must hold license as a LMSW, LMFT-A, LPC-A, LISW-CP, LMFT, or LPC in the state of SC.
• Minimum of one year experience working with children and/or families, which may include internships.
• Experience providing services in school‑based or community‑based settings preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family systems, and evidence‑based behavioral health treatment approaches
• Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy services
• Strong crisis intervention, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and manage a clinical caseload effectively
• Understanding of HIPAA, Medicaid documentation requirements, and ethical clinical practice
• Valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation for travel between service locations
