Job summary

Talbert House in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor - Dependent (School Based) to join our school-based behavioral health team. The role provides individual and group counseling, assessments, and treatment planning to support students’ social, emotional, and academic success.

Under supervision of an independently licensed clinician, you will collaborate with teachers, families, and community providers, using trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, counseling, or related field and Ohio licensure.
• Current Ohio LSW or LPC license; LISW/LPCC eligibility considered.
• 2–5 years of clinical counseling experience preferred.
• Experience with children, adolescents, families or school-based programs preferred.
• Ability to practice within licensure scope and supervise appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional and mental health concerns.
• Conduct clinical interviews, psychosocial assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans reflecting student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to coordinate interventions.
• Monitor progress and adjust counseling strategies as needed.
• Provide case management and connect students/families with resources.
• Maintain confidential documentation and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Complete required agency, school-based, and funding body training.
