Required are a BOC certification, state licensure (LSBME), and BLS from the American Heart Association. This role emphasizes safety, communication, and adherence to professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field.
• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer with state licensure (LSBME).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day medical coverage of student‑athletes in the high school outreach setting.
• Assist with injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to activity.
• Collaborate with coaches, school staff, families, and other healthcare providers as necessary.
• Communicate health information with the athlete, caregiver, coach, and administrator.
