School Based Adolescent Therapist (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC)

Position Overview

Roots Through Recovery is seeking a full-time, licensed therapist (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC) with experience in substance use, mental health, and trauma to work in community high schools and middle schools in the south and south central Los Angeles area. This role involves diagnosing and treating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, addressing trauma, and developing resilience in adolescents.

Responsibilities
  1. Travel to community schools in the designated areas.
  2. Provide individual and family therapy for adolescents and their families.
  3. Implement trauma-focused therapy for adolescents with co-occurring disorders.
  4. Use evidence-based methods for group and individual treatments.
  5. Develop and review treatment plans.
  6. Collaborate with school staff and other treatment providers.
  7. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely completion.
  8. Adhere to all licensing and facility standards.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Current, unrestricted license in California (LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC).
  • Experience working with adolescents, substance use disorders, and diverse populations.
  • Experience with PTSD and trauma preferred; EMDR training a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is advantageous.
