Job summary

Horizon Education Centers is seeking dedicated drivers to transport children to and from school and our childcare centers, including field trips during breaks and summer. Hours are 2pm–6pm at East Lorain Childcare Center, with pay of $13.75 hourly for classroom aide plus $3.00 hourly for driving.

Qualified applicants must be 21+, have a clean driving record, and a license held for at least 5 years. No CDL required; training provided. Benefits include health coverage and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be 21 years of age and have a current license with a clean driving record (no more than 4 points) to drive Horizon, training provided.
• Drivers must be licensed for a minimum of 5 years.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Some training, experience and/or interest in child development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive 14-passenger school minibus and/or 6-passenger minivans.
• Care and supervision of children at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices.
• Work as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director.
• Assist in documentation for attendance and transportation services provided.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff through prompt and professional service.
• Seasonal field trips and destination trips; supervise children during events.
• Bus inspections, mileage logs, and bus cleaning.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information.
