Job summary

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education School Aide or Behavior Technician for a rewarding position in Lenox, MA. You will provide individualized support to a kindergarten-aged student with Autism Spectrum Disorder for the 2026-2027 school year.

Amergis Educational Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated Special Education School Aide or Behavior Technician (BT) for a rewarding school-based opportunity in Lenox, MA.

This position involves providing individualized support to a kindergarten-aged student and is available for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Details

• Location: Lenox, MA
• Start Date: September 7, 2026
• Assignment Length: Full School Year
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM
• Pay Rate: $24/hour

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a kindergarten student diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Assist with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development throughout the school day
• Work collaboratively with educators and support staff to help meet the student's individualized needs
• Promote a positive and supportive learning environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Special Education School Aide, Behavior Technician, or in a clinical setting is required
• Experience supporting children with ASD or other special needs is highly preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
