Job summary

YMCA of Collier County Inc is seeking a School Age Program Manager to oversee the development and operations of the school‑age program across designated sites, ensuring licensing, budgeting, staffing, and records are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Director credentials required.
  • 1–2 years related experience preferred.
  • Must be 25+ and able to meet background screening requirements.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid required within 90 days of employment.
  • ADA understanding and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the total operation of school-age programs at designated sites.
  • Develop and monitor the program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Ensure licensing compliance with DCF, ELC, and contracted entities.
  • Monitor fees and ensure zero outstanding balances.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop diverse staff and volunteers.

  • Design curriculum plans and activities fostering social-emotional learning.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and community organizations to maximize impact.
  • Support grant reporting and seek new grants as needed.
  • Fill in as a sub at any location when coverage is not met.

POSITIONSUMMARY:

Thisposition supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leadingnot-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in CollierCounty through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, andSocial Responsibility. The School AgeProgram Manager oversees the development and operations of the overall schoolage program at each designated site, ensuring the program meets its intendedgoals. Responsible for day-to-daygeneral administration of the program and ensuring that sites meet all YMCA,state and county licensing requirements.This position works with their supervisor to provide direction andleadership for the achievement of Association goals in accordance with thepolicies, procedures and standards established by the Board.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:
  • Administers, leads, and manages the total operation of school-ageout of school programs at designated sites, including developing and monitoringthe program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics tomonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in the program;securing, scheduling, and maintaining the needed facilities; creating andscheduling the activities or events; assuring staffing coverage, andmaintaining programs records or files.
  • Ensures program services meet community needs and qualityprogramming requirements, and to include supervising existing programactivities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the programwithin the community as needed.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations asthey relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate;ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures arefollowed. Ensure site meets alllicensing requirements with DCF, ELC, and any other contracted entities.
  • Responsible for monitoring collection of fees and working withSite Supervisors to ensure all programs have zero outstanding balances.
  • Responsible for program plans and records to ensure consistencywith evidence-based best practices and policies are followed. This includes oversight with ensuringaccurate records of each employee and volunteer which includes theresponsibility for maintaining all electronic records in accordance with YMCAof Collier County policies and procedures.
  • Understand, implement, enter, assist with, and monitor thebudget. Communicate variances andexercise necessary expense controls.
  • Responsible for effectively handling all emergency incidents andsubmitting proper documentation.
  • Must assist with grant reporting, finding grants for programs, andensuring all grant requirements are met.
  • Responsible for working with Site Supervisors to complete staffscheduling daily, ensuring all groups at all locations are covered and incompliance with mandated ratios as well as knowledge of program contracts orother requirements that are required to be met.
  • Must be able to fill in as a sub at any location if appropriatecoverage is not met.
  • Nurture children by designing plans, curriculum themes, andactivities that include purposeful programming that develops social-emotionalskills, fosters achievement, supports academic growth, and provides enrichment.
  • Engage in and support association programs and activities.
  • Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams acrossmultiple dimensions of diversity.Onboards and develops them for success.Maintains staff schedules and evaluates staff performance.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; developsand maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents and caregivers,and community organizations (e.g., state child care licensing agency, schooladministration) to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes;maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within areas ofresponsibility.
  • Organizes or participates in Y activities, such as committees,special events, and fundraising.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor'sdegree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Oneto two years related experience (e.g., supervisor or coordinator of child careprograms) preferred.
  • Director’sCredentials required.
  • Minimumage of 25.
  • Understandsthe YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance withthe Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Must be able to meet the Association’sbackground screening requirements.
  • Certificates/Licenses:Must have or be enrolled in state mandated training within 30 days ofemployment. Training must be completewithin the first 60 days of employment.Florida Director Credential preferred.CPR/AED and First Aid required within the first 90 days ofemployment. Must meet YMCA drivingcriteria.
  • Skills: Must be ableto supervise, coach and manage staff.Must be able to supervise and instruct large groups of children. Knowledge of sports and children’sprogramming preferred. Must be extremelyorganized, task oriented, flexible, able to work under pressure, make assigneddeadlines, and able to communicate effectively.Must be knowledgeable in YMCA software programs, and able to utilize theGoogle Drive.
