Job summary

The Arc Erie County NY in Cheektowaga, NY seeks a School Principal to lead a K-12 educational program for students with developmental disabilities. You will build a strong, professional culture and guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized services.

You will oversee educational programming, student services, and professional development, while ensuring strong relationships with families and school districts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in special education is required.
• 6 years of educational experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
• 5 years of supervisory experience.
• At least 2 years as an Assistant/Vice Principal or Principal.
• NYS Permanent or Professional Teaching Certification is required.
• NYS SAS, SDA, SBL or SDL certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Assistant Principals, special education teachers, teacher assistants and support staff.
• Oversee educational programming, student services, classroom operations and professional development.
• Help ensure high-quality, individualized educational and therapeutic services while maintaining relations with families and school districts.
• Provide oversight of staffing, budgeting, safety, regulatory compliance and overall school operations.
• Collaborate with agency leadership, clinical teams, school districts and community partners.
