The Goddard School of Millersville, MD is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher to join our nurturing, student-centered program. You will lead daily activities, implement our Wonder of Learning curriculum, and partner with families to support early childhood development.

This role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and professional growth with ongoing training and CDA-related tuition reimbursement. Our school values teachers who inspire curiosity and joy in young learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• CDA preferred
• 1-2 years of experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
• State-required pre-service training completed
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, families and faculty
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities and implement age-appropriate lesson plans
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing classroom environment
• Maintain open, effective communication with families and guardians
• Uphold health and safety standards and licensing regulations
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training
• Observe, assess and document children's learning and development
• Support Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers as part of a team
• Model positive guidance for social-emotional growth and conflict resolution
