Job summary

Child Development Schools North Carolina LLC is seeking a Lead Teacher to create a warm, engaging classroom where children explore, learn, and grow. You will guide age-appropriate activities and partner with families.

In this full-time role in Durham, you will plan lessons, ensure safety and licensing compliance, document progress, and communicate regularly with parents. We value care, collaboration, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Completion of 12 hours of childcare training within 30 days of hire.
• Genuine care for children and safety commitment.
• Strong communication and family-relations skills.
• Physical ability to meet demands of working with young children.
• Early Childhood Education degree or coursework is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities for the Before and After School classroom.
• Keep the classroom safe, organized, and compliant with licensing and ratio requirements.
• Observe and document each child's development and share progress with families regularly.
• Build relationships with parents through daily communication and scheduled conferences.
• Complete required documentation including attendance, incident reports, and assessments.
