Overview

Whiz Kids Child Development Center is a center-based facility that is family oriented. We are looking for a School Age Lead Teacher to join our team of caring and creative caregivers. Qualified candidates will possess a passion and joy for early childhood education. A successful preschool teacher will be energetic and enthusiastic. S/he won't be afraid to get wild and crazy with their kiddos.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday

Split shift: 6:30‑9:00 A.M. 2:00‑5:00 P.M.

Shift time may vary for lesson planning.

Duties

The duties of a School Age Lead Teacher include (but are not limited to):

• Design lesson plans that facilitate the children's social‑emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Implement age‑appropriate activities and work as a team player with peers and associates
• Tend to children's basic needs
• Mediate conflict between children
• Model appropriate behaviors
• Encourage staff/parent communication
• Ensure the center's philosophies and policies are implemented
• Attend all staff meetings, continuing education, and center events
• Maintain state‑mandated staff/student ratio at all times

Requirements

At Whiz Kids, a school‑age teacher must have:

• Clear criminal record
• Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Warm, approachable disposition
• Excellent problem‑solving skills
• Passion for early childhood development

Nice to Haves

• An associate’s degree in ECE or a related field
• First aid certified per CT requirements
• CPR certified per CT requirements
• Medication certified per CT requirements
