Description

The Floating School-Age Educator, reporting to the supervision of the Assistant Director of School Age Programs, is responsible for implementing programs and providing direct service to children across Erie House's three comprehensive School Age Program locations. This position will work 5 hours a day during school days and 8 hours a day (full time) during summer/school vacation/holidays, contingent upon funding supporting whichever location has the greatest need.

This part-time (school year)/full-time (summer) position is in partnership with the Expanded Learning Programs department, directly impacting our student population of primarily Latinx and immigrant families.

The Floating School Age Educator's primary responsibility is to interact, supervise, and provide a safe learning environment to the children that we serve between our 3 different locations.

The Floating School Age Educator must be adaptable, have excellent communication skills, and provide an environment in which children can grow and learn. Experience working with children 5-12 years old is highly preferred.

Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish / English preferred
  • 45 hours of college courses with at least 6 hours in child development or related field OR 30 hours of college courses with 9 hours in child development/related field plus
  • Ability to use Microsoft Programs
  • Ability to report to 3 different locations in Chicago with limited notice (1313 N. Claremont, 1701 W. Superior, 1347 W. Erie)
