Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for the Wappingers Central School District for the 2026-2027 school year. The part-time, non-exempt roles include morning and/or afternoon programs at several elementary schools, with shifts aligned to the school day.

Salary ranges from $16.00 to $17.00 per hour, with employer-paid childcare and benefits such as telehealth, vision, dental, AFLAC, 401(k), paid sick time, and on-demand pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or at least 1 year of experience with children under 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, per state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model.
• Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, including attendance, registration, and staffing.

• Myers Corner Elementary School in Wappingers Falls, NY
• Sheafe Road Elementary School in Wappingers Falls, NY
• Vassar Road Elementary School in Poughkeepsie, NY

PAY RATE: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 6:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Afternoon Program: 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
