Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Programs at Quinton Township Elementary School in Quinton, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year. Part-time, non-exempt roles follow the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities include facilitating activities, maintaining a safe environment, and assisting with attendance, registration, and family communication.

Qualifications

• Candidates must pass state background checks.
• Must meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and active engagement with children.
• Positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills with families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and model positive behavior.
• Observe school and program policies and assist with attendance, registration, and staffing.
• Support program operations and parent communication as needed.

PAY RATE: $16.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 6:45 - 8:30 am

Afternoon Program: 2:45 - 5:45 pm

Position Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
