Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Site Director for our After School Program at Oxmoor Valley Elementary School in Birmingham, AL for the 2026–2027 school year.

The role focuses on leading activities, ensuring a safe environment, and coordinating with school staff and families. Part-time, non-exempt position with an afternoon schedule aligns with the school day and program goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent; some college or early childhood coursework preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
• Some lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments is a plus.
• Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearances.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children.
• Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred
• 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting
• Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
• Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required
• Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast‑paced environment.
• Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.
