Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, or a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years’ experience in youth programming and staff supervision; OST/camp experience ideal.
• Familiarity with DCFS license-exempt standards or willingness to learn.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications, or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Pass a background check and meet DCFS employment standards.
• Willingness to travel between sites and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution, and evaluation of Before and After School Care and Day Camp programs.
• Ensure programming complies with DCFS license-exempt standards and safety requirements.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor part-time childcare staff.
• Maintain communication with childcare director on progress and feedback.
• Manage operations across multiple sites and coordinate resources for consistency.
• Build relationships with children, staff and parents to foster trust.
• Handle administrative tasks like documentation and staff scheduling.
• Organize staff meetings and professional development.
• Respond to emergencies with established protocols and required certifications.
• Support ongoing program improvements with innovative practices.
