Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Programs at Horace W. Porter School for the 2026–2027 school year.

Location: Horace W. Porter School, Columbia, CT. Pay rate: $16.98 per hour. Schedule follows the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon sessions. This part-time, non-exempt role focuses on engaging children through structured activities and positive guidance.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience with kids under 13 preferred.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, per state regulations.

Responsabilités

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and serve as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Schedule

Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:00 - 8:00 am

Afternoon Program: 3:15 - 6:00 pm

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
